A good friend of mine decided to eat lunch at a local Thai restaurant – inspiration from our talk about Thai food during a morning run. The food looked delicious from the pictures she sent, so I popped into Lemongrass today to review the lunch set.
26-28 Station Road,
Burgess Hill, West Sussex
Lunch @ 12.00-14.30 Dinner@17.30-23.00
Not so busy at lunch time, but booking advisable for dinner. Delivery and takeaway also available.
Lemongrass has been recommended to me by many of my English friends and clearly has a good reputation. The lunch sets are well created, each themed differently and with their own variety.
The sets range in price from £7.50 to £10.95. Mine was £9.95, as was my husband’s, who had duck spring roll with hoi sin sauce, salt and pepper squid with homemade garlic mayo, and chicken with cahewnut served with rice.
So that’s two sides and a main, served with either rice, noodles or vegetables. Bargain.
If you don’t fancy a set, Thai tapas-style dishes are available from £2.00 to £3.50.
Also available is the Thai Tapas Express lunch – your choice of dish from a list of six, for £6.95 per plate.
Overall, the food is tasty and great value for money. Check it out if in the area.
Beautiful Thai food with diverse choices for lunch sets.
Prawn on toast with sweet chilli sauce: This dish is nice and light, not greasy at all. The sweet chilli sauce is also nice with the balance of sweetness and a hint of spiciness.
Chicken satay with peanut sauce: I normally prefer pork satay as often chicken breast satay can be dry, but that is not the case here. Lovely and tender, marinaded well. Lovely salty, nutty peanut sauce, with a hint of spice.
Chicken Massaman Curry: Creamy and delicious, served beautifully with a splash of coconut milk. Tender chicken, great taste of spices
Pad Thai: I can taste the tasty Pad Thai sauce. Nice cooking and nice colour. Although not served with the usual crushed peanuts and other condiments, the staff were happy to provide upon my request.
The decor is modern and clean, with some lovely Thai ornamnents. The seating is comfortable. The restaurant is on Station Road, not too far from Burgess Hill Station and parking less than a two minute walk away is available at the Waitrose Carpark.
The staff are friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
I had a lovely lunch at Lemongrass, Thank you for the wonderful Thai food.
