Pad Kapow Moo Sub is one of the favourite dished for Thais. Great for lunch and easy find. It’s everywhere in Bangkok whether street food stall or restaurant. This dish is quick and easy to make. It is normally served with fried egg and jasmine rice. Sometimes we garnish it with crispy fried basil leaves. The secret of cooking this dish is medium to high heat and cook it very quickly. Let’s get started.

Stir-fried minced pork with basil and chillies – Ingredients

  • 300 g minced pork
  • 1/2 Tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon  soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 Tablespoon  Sugar
  • A handful of basil
  • Chilles up to your taste

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

pound garlic and chillies in mortar and pestle. leave them aside.

Step 2

Mix all the sauces; fish sauce, soy sauce and oyster sauce in separate bowl and leave them on the side. Ready to put into our stir fry.

Step 3

Heat up the pan with medium to high heat. when you see a little smoke, add garlic and chillies. fry them until golden.

Step 4

Add minced pork then stir-fry until they are cooked. Then add the sauce that we prepared.

Step 5

When minced pork are coated by our sauce. Add sugar and keep stir-fry. Don’t leave them as they may burn. 

Step 6

Add basil leaves. Keep stir-fry for 10-20 seconds then turn off the heat. Don’t leave basil for too long as they will shrink in size and high heat will make them lose their nice green colour.

Now it’s done and you can serve with fried egg and jasmine rice.
